5 Minutes Of My Day – Wayside Flowers

September 6, 2018
Today I partook of “the traveller’s dower” noticing and enjoying the beauty of the wayside flowers on my way home.  Enjoy William Allingham’s poem.
Wayside Flowers

Pluck not the wayside flower,
It is the traveller’s dower;
A thousand passer-by
Its beauties may espy,
May win a touch of blessing
From Nature’s mild caressing.
The sad of heart perceives
A violet under leaves
Like sonic fresh-budding hope;
The primrose on the slope
A spot of sunshine dwells,
And cheerful message tells
Of kind renewing power;
The nodding bluebell’s dye
Is drawn from happy sky.
Then spare the wayside flower!
It is the traveller’s dower.

5 Minutes Of My Day – Beauty In Flowers

September 5, 2018
Ah! Sunflower

Ah! sunflower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun,
Seeking after that sweet golden clime
Where the traveller’s journey is done;

Where the youth pined away with desire,
And the pale virgin shrouded in snow,
Arise from their graves and aspire;
Where my sunflower wishes to go.

5 Minutes Of My Day – Walking the shoreline of lake Huron

September 2, 2018
Being grateful for the beauty that is all around us in Canada.
Acknowledging that feeling safe is a privilege we take too often for granted.
Listening to water splash against rock, birds singing in the trees, children laughing, wind whispering through leaves and the slow and steady breathing of my beloved.
Today we sat quietly surrounded by love.

5 Minutes Of My Day – Chasing Monarch Butterflies

August 31, 2018
Once again we were greeted after work with 6 to 10 monarch butterflies flitting from one flower to another in our butterfly garden.  And not having learned from yesterdays experience we chased the butterflies with our cameras.

We find such joy in our butterfly garden, in all our gardens if truth be told.
